The respiratory and cardiovascular systems are related to energy metabolism in the body.
The cardiovascular system consists of the heart and blood vessels,it is the major transport of materials to and from cells. Blood is carried from the heart around the body. The metabolic reaction which produce energy are very dependant on the cardiovascular system as it delivers all the oxygen to the body’s cells. The main reason for the relationship between the cardiovascular system and metabolism is that without the cardiovascular system the body would not be able to get the nutrient molecules that are needed from the foods that are eaten or oxygen that is being breathed;to the cells without the heart and blood vessels.
The respiratory system is responsible for bringing the oxygen needed to burn nutrients for energy along with cleaning out metabolic waste products. Respiration gets oxygen from the air to the tissues and removes carbon dioxide from the body as metabolic reactions produce carbon dioxide, metabolism refers to all the chemical reactions therefore they are related to one another as metabolism occurs in all tissues.
