The purpose of the cartoon Transported, by Herblock is to capture and show his audience how everyone was “intoxicated” by the moon landing, while war, poverty, and prejudice was taking over the world. The cartoon appeals to ethos because herblock is a known cartoonist for his national domestic and foreign policy commentaries. For logos, the cartoon states true facts of worldwide issues and mentions the moon landing’s effect on people. Even though the cartoon doesn’t include pathos, the pathos is found on people’s feelings about the cartoon’s representation of their lives. At the end, the cartoon followed through with it’s purpose because it gave the audience a little “wake-up” call to focus on not just the current event but other important happenings.
