As a child, I was fascinated about the night sky, reaching the planets, stars and knowing more about what lies beyond earth. My father who was working for ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) used to educate me on how a rocket works and benefits of sending satellites from earth to outer space. This background drew me closer to science and technology. I started to appreciate how science and technology have greatly improved the quality of human life and have raised the standard of living to a record high. For centuries, science has produced dazzling technical achievements: computers, industrial robots, communication satellites & the myriad of micro-electronics.
With my continued interest in science, I chose Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as my major subjects in my secondary school, as part of my Physics project; I had constructed logic gates and simple latches using basic circuit elements and was greatly amazed by the potential of the electrical and electronics stream. During my undergraduate studies, I was excited by the diversity in the field of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. In my bachelor program, the courses like Network Analysis, Signals and Systems, Microprocessors and Microcontroller, VLSI Technology and Process Control helped me learn the aspects of system implementation. On the other hand, courses like Data Structure, Operating Systems like C, C++, Communication systems and Computer Network helped me understand how the concepts of computers are applied to practical systems in day-to-day life.
Apart from academic life, I participated in various cultural events and I believe I have developed leadership qualities over the period. I played an important role in organizing both cultural and technical events in my school as a cultural secretary, was elected as a student welfare representative in my college, participated in National level paper presentation and bagged 3rd place, took part in many cultural and technical events during my under graduate days.
My undergraduate degree helped me to get an opportunity to work for a startup company and be a part of pre-sales team. My role in pre-sales team helped me discover the importance of data analytics and how important data is to an organization or industry. Having good interpersonal skills, I helped my team win crucial deals. With constant learning and exposure to tools and cutting-edge technologies used to build products, I started reading books related to software languages and become more curious to learn more on art of building software products. At this point in my career, I attended interview for a Software Developer role in Cognizant Technology Solution. I successfully cleared various rounds in the interview process. During my initial training days, I was trained in DB2, COBOL and Mainframe technology. As a Software Developer I worked with prestigious clients like J P Morgan Chase, MetLife etc.
Having worked for 6+ years in the IT industry, I know the importance of having real-world work experience that facilitates valuable learning and skill development. The Masters degree in Management information systems has a good blend of management and technical courses.
